Satisfactory results from Nordiske Medier in a year marked by digital transformation and investments in Projektagenten.
Nordiske Medier realized an operating profit of DKK 14.1 million in 2024, compared to DKK 14.8 million the previous year. Revenue amounted to DKK 219 million, an increase of approximately DKK 14 million. The growth was primarily driven by the acquisition of the remaining 75 percent of the ownership stakes in Nordiske Fagmedier in Norway.
"In light of the fact that in 2024 we intensified the digital transformation and made further investments in Projektagenten, I am actually quite pleased with the operating result," says Jesper Hansen, CEO of Nordiske Medier.
Shifts
If you dig deeper into the underlying figures, according to the CEO, there are many signs that the future looks bright for the media company, which provides business journalism to companies across a wide range of industries in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
“Our overall strategic focus on developing strong niches with quality journalism that can't be found elsewhere has significantly boosted sales, especially subscriptions, but the growth in digital ads also looks promising,” says Jesper Hansen.
The number of subscriptions increased from just over 35,000 in 2023 to nearly 42,000 in 2024 in Denmark and Sweden. Additionally, after the acquisition of Nordiske Fagmedier, Nordiske Medier now has over 7,000 subscribers in Norway, bringing the total subscriber base to approximately 49,000. This development represents an overall increase of 40 percent.
However, print sales declined.
“Once again this year, we have decided to reduce the number of publications. In a declining print market, it is crucial to stay ahead of the curve and ensure the optimal product offering. In this way, we are also contributing to the shift in our advertising revenue from print to digital advertising. This will continue in 2025 as well,” says Jesper Hansen.
Projektagenten established in three countries.
Nordiske Medier has made significant investments in Projektagenten in recent years, which is a digital product for monitoring active construction projects and tenders. Projektagenten is now established in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
"Fortunately, we can confirm that the market is welcoming a new strong player in what is somewhat of a stagnant, monopoly-like market," says Jesper Hansen.
Projektagenten reached break-even in Denmark in March 2025, while break-even at the Nordic level is expected to be achieved already in 2026.
Ongoing ambitions for growth and positioning.
The expectations for 2025 involve continued growth, primarily driven by an increase in the digital subscription business and the growing focus on Projektagenten. Nordiske Medier also aims to play an active role in the consolidation within B2B media. The company has ambitions to cover more niches in the Nordics based on even better journalistic content.
