Nordiske Medier strengthens its journalism by hiring a new news editor

Andrea Jessen Vestergaard becomes the new editor of Licitationen.

Nordiske Medier is creating a new position as news editor. The purpose is to strengthen content across the media house's B2B niche media, with a special focus on the digital area. The focus will particularly be directed at faster, more, and even better stories across the many platforms.

  • This editorial adjustment is intended to support our high ambitions for increased traffic as well as upselling of subscribers and advertisements, says Søren Dietrichsen, executive editor at Nordiske Medier.

The new news editor, Jesper Tornvig Ludvigsen, has been found within the organization. As editor at BYG Gruppen, which is behind Licitationen and Building Supply, he has quickly succeeded in sharpening the journalistic ambitions, making Denmark's largest construction media sharper and more relevant to the target audience.

More unique news
The work with the content has had a significant effect on traffic and subscriber acquisition, especially for Licitationen, but also for other construction media, and these are the experiences that Jesper Tornvig Ludvigsen, in his role as news editor, will now spread to all Nordiske Medier's publications.

  • "Jesper is foremost a skilled and focused journalistic leader. With his extensive journalistic experience and digital insight from some of the country's largest media houses, I am confident that he will strengthen Nordiske Medier’s position as a leading player in delivering news about Danish business across all our sectors," says Søren Dietrichsen.
Nordiske Medier has set ambitious goals for increased traffic and more customers, aiming to reach 26,000 subscribers already in 2023. The news editor will play a central role in developing strategies and content that appeal to and engage a broader audience. This will include increasing the number of unique stories that cannot be found with competitors.

  • We need to work smarter and more efficiently and raise the quality. This is a development we have already initiated, but which we are now intensifying with the creation of the position of news editor, says the executive editor at Nordiske Medier.
Jesper Tornvig Ludvigsen joined Nordiske Medier last year. He has experience from similar positions at B.T. and DR.

New editor
The new editor for the construction editorial team, including Licitationen, will be Andrea Jessen Vestergaard. She comes from a position as news editor at the same media outlets.

  • Andrea Jessen Vestergaard is a great journalistic talent, and she has quickly proven that she has leadership skills. I am confident that Andrea can continue the positive development across all construction media, where there is still great potential to reach many more readers and set the agenda in the construction industry.
In addition to Licitationen and Building-Supply, Andrea will have editorial responsibility for the construction media outlets FemernNews and MesterTidende.
The new editorial organization will take effect on August 1st this year.
